Ganoderma Lucidum, also known as Reishi, is a saprophyte mushroom that predominantly grows on dead wood of deciduous trees, such as oak, alder, and birch, and very rarely on coniferous trees. This fungus has several varieties, and during its growth, the fruit body can absorb twigs or leaves into the cap. The structure of the Ganoderma is remarkably solid, and its color can range from reddish to brown-violet or black with a yellowish tinge. Interestingly, the mushroom does not lose mass when dried, but instead, it becomes completely lignified, retaining its original shape. The cap is flat, kidney-shaped, or ovoid, with a smooth, shiny, and wavy surface, divided into numerous concentric growth rings of different shades. The flesh, initially spongy, becomes dense and woody as the mushroom matures.
